This may come as a surprise…  but aromatherapy do help our
children to perform better at school.
We are willing to do anything to help our children to excel
in school. We send them to camps to learn how to study
better, how to have super memory, and how to read fast. We spend money to
have private tutor to teach them, we even stay up late
to teach them.  To our frustation, some of our children just
cannot meet our expectation. There is a missing link there.
Have we not given the best? Have they not tried their best? The
problem might not be that our children is not hardworking or
our children is not that smart, but sometimes, it’s that we
have not pushed the right switch.

Step 1 : Clear the “smog”

What I called “smog” is actually all the information our
children received in or out of school that has nothing to do
with their study but still important to their live.
Socializing is very important for them, but not that important in
their study.

Send our children to school with a “smog” free
mind by diffusing some essential oils into the air. There
are a couple of very effective different blends to clear the
“smog” hence free our mind.

Use equal amounts of juniper, pine and tea tree or celery,
hyssop and lemon. I would recommend using a cold or forced
air diffuser. Diffuse these essential oils for 10 to 15
minutes in the morning. This will help clear their minds of “smog” and
help them throughout their busy day. Cold air diffusers
provide the greatest therapeutic value because they do not
use heat to diffuse the oil.

Step 2 : Sharpen the saw

Concentration during the class, while finishing homework and
refreshing the lesson is of extreme important to excel in
school. Get distracted is not a crime nor a sin. We as human
being are very easily distracted, our children is easily
distrated by the boy or the girl in their class, distracted
by the game they are playing.

Aromatherapy can help them to concentrate better. Equal
amounts of pine, black pepper and rosewood or eucalyptus,
petitgrain and thyme. Should you need a little boost during
the day, place about 4 or 5 drops of either blend on a
handkerchief and take it out occasionally and inhale the
aroma. This to will aid in maintaining your children
concentration levels.

Step 3 : “Core Duo 2″ memory

What’s the point of studying hard but can’t remember it in
the exam? Like most adult, teens have a selective memory and
remember only what they want to. However there are times
when they need to remember something and just can’t seem to
do it.

To assist your children in increasing their memory powers
try using this blend. Once again use equal amounts. Use
marjoram, peppermint and sage. Diffuse this blend for 10 to
15 minutes in the morning you will be surprised at the
amount of information you will be able to recall. Place 4 or
5 drops on a handkerchief for a boost throughout the day.

The essential oils taken from plants and employed in Aromatherapy have been described as their “critical factors” – they are needed critically for the plants’ biological process, as well as being the substance which gives them their scent and aroma.

Synthetic oil, even if chemically similar, lacks all the natural factors, and that vital critical factor, that make essential oils so valuable. Another reason why synthetic oils are not acceptable and desired is that the minor constituents are never identical in structure and composition.

Essential oils are extracted from flowers; herbs; spices; woods and fibers, usually by distillation, expulsion and solvent extraction. Solvent extraction is only acceptable for aromatherapy, if the solvent used is completely removed after the manufacturing process and no traces are identifiable. Here are some of the most common uses that are associated with essential oils:

For Massage: This is the most effective method of using the oils, combining their properties with the therapeutic power of touch. The oils should never be used undiluted, but should be diluted with an odorless carrier oil, such as grape seed, sweet almond or peach kernel. A dilution of 3% essential oil to carrier oil is a recommended level. This is approximately one drop essential oil to two milliliters of carrier oil. Essential oils are needed in very minute quantities. The skin is the largest surface part of the body and is designed to keep out contaminants from the skin layers.

For Bath: Using oils in baths is a simple, effective and pleasant exercise to relax and receive the therapeutic and soothing effects. It is well known that water itself has therapeutic value, which further enhances the powers of the oils. For daily bathing, add 6 to 10 drops of essential oil or a blend to the surface of the water, and then bathe yourself for about 20 minutes, whilst you deeply inhale the vapor. Be a bit careful about the quantum oil you use while bathing your children.
For Compressing Add 5 to 10 drops of essential oil to 100ml of warm water then soak a piece of clean cotton in the water, wring out the excess and place the cloth on the affected part.
For Inhalation Add 5 to 10 drops of essential oil into a bowl of steaming water then place a towel over your head and the bowl and inhale the vapor for a few minutes. Feel yourself rejuvenated and free of tension. For Vaporization All essential oils are known antiseptic and evaporate easily, thus make very good air-fresheners.

Different oils usually create different atmospheres. For example, relaxing Sandalwood or Clary Sage are good for ravishing parties; or cool Peppermint clears your mind when you need to work. Diffusers can be used to make oils diffuse slowly in your working room or living quarters. As Perfumes It is very easy to make your own distinctive perfume by skillfully blending different oils. Try blending with different combinations, which can be mixed with a carrier oil or non-fragrant alcohol. Do your own experiment.

Storing Essential Oils
Because essential oils are affected by sunlight and higher temperatures, they should be stored in dark glass bottles, with tight stopper caps.
Cap should be secured properly and the bottle stored in an upright position.
Maintain a uniform temperature and moisture.
Never allow these oils to come in contact with children.
Never store essential oils in plastic bottles.
Good Essential oils have a shelf life of several years if properly stored, though the oils derived from orange, lemon and lime will not keep as long.

Patchouli is rare kind oil which actually gets better as it ages. Mixing Essential Oils Blending different oils in various proportions can yield you some fabulous products. You should have right knowledge and a will to experiment various combinations. It is strongly recommended that you use a good dropper so that you can measure the actual number of drops easily.

Do not mix up oils as they are known to get unstable too quickly. Use a different dropper for different oil to avoid cross contamination. Uses that are associated with aromatic essential oils are various; different oils have their own special applications and benefits. How ever, no single oil is exactly similar to another in its application, aroma, scent and appeal. It means any essential oil has its own charisma and special niche. Go ahead and enjoy the exotic presence of your own aromatic oil.

DIRECT INHALATION:
Apply 2-3 drops of essential oil or blend to palm of one hand, rub palms together, cup hands over nose and mouth and inhale vapors deeply 6-8 times.

DIFFUSION:
A few drops in a diffuser (for therapeutic use, cold air diffusers do not harm the fragile properties of essential oils), you can buy electric devices, candle warmed, ceramic rings to place on light bulbs, or just use a bowl of warm water.

However, using heat to diffuse essential oils will destroy essential oils, rendering them therapeutically ineffective. Cold air diffusers gently break up essential oils into tiny molecules through micro diffusion thus retaining the integrity of the oils. This process creates a fine mist vapor that floats in the air and can be absorbed gently into the body through the respiratory system. If you’re diffusing an oil only for aroma, an oil burner works perfectly. But, if you’re using an essential oil or blend for therapeutic benefit, use a cold air diffuser.

COMPRESS:
Dilute 1 part essential oil or blend with 4 parts vegetable oil (olive works great) and apply 8-10 drops on affected area. Cover with moist hand towel or wash cloth. Cover the moist towel with a dry towel and leave in place for 10-15 minutes. If there is inflammation – always use a cold compress. If there is no inflammation, use a warm compress.

FOOT REFLEX POINTS:
Massage oil or blend with the side of your thumb or reflex tool on the corresponding reflex point on the feet (see the foot reflex charts at akobiaromas.com). Use a press and circle motion for 10-20 seconds per point.

RECTAL RETENTION: (only if directed by healthcare provider)
Dilute 15 drops recommended essential oil(s) or blend with 1 TBSP vegetable oil. Insert 1 TBSP into rectum with a bulb syringe and retain overnight.

VAGINAL RETENTION: (only if directed by healthcare provider)
Apply 5-8 drops of oil or blend on a tampon and insert into vagina for internal infection; or apply to sanitary pad for external lesions. Retain overnight.

VAPORIZE:
Run hot, steaming water into sink or large bowl. Drape towel over head, covering hot water also. Add 3-6 drops essential oil(s) or blend to the water. Inhale vapors as deeply as possible several times through the nose as they rise with the steam. Recharge vapors with additional hot water as needed.

MASSAGE:
Blend 15 drops of essential oil per ounce of carrier oil (Almond, Apricot, Jojoba) and indulge in the power of touch.

OTHER USES:
Facial steams, foot soaks, insect repellant, household cleaning…. and much more… use your imagination
